Achievements
"A nation cannot be built upon distinction"
Nationally, he is a secularist (liberty of belief, separation of religion from
the state) and he is one of the first people who made bills of laws in order to
achieve this principle.
On the Lebanese level, Salah Mattar has sought since the seventies for the
modernization of the State, its total reform and democratic change and the rule
of law.
He is a courageous defendant of the development and improvement of the Lebanese
People, and in general, of the Human Rights and Liberties.
He insists that there should be no contradiction between Arabism & Lebanesism,
the latter including the characteristics of Lebanon and its Arabic and
Humanitarian missions, the former being the utmost cooperation between Lebanon
and the Arab States.
